when he was young to distract other. After having eliminating another warlord, Imagawa Yoshimoto who threatened him from the

Sandwiched between 2 powerful clans, Imagawa in the east and Oda in the west, he spent his youth as a hostage of those families.
But with a great patience, he had successfully enlarged his feud. After his allied, Toyotomi Hideyoshi?s death, Ieyasu entered
in a conflict with Hideyoshi?s deputy, Ishida mitsunari and beaten him in the great battle of Sekigahara in 1600. He became

Kenshin (1530-1578) Born in 1530 in a Uesugi?s sub branch, Nagao family, who was charged
to administer Niigata region (Shugo dai). Though Uesugi had a responsibility over the whole Kanto region (Kanto kanrei), they
had been weakened by Hojo family. So Shingen succeeded his overlord, to restore his fued by fighting against Hojo and his
allied, Takeda Shingen. Kenshin and Shingen crashed 5 times at Kawanakajima in northern Ngano but the battles had been never

recognized by Nobunage after an enrollment to the army. He answered well his request in many circumstances. After a surprisein

I,e, unification of Japan. Unsatisfied with his achievements, he sent troops to Korea to annex it. However, he died in 1598

Shingen (1521-1573) Born in 1521 as the eldest son of Nobutota in Yamansh iperfecture in
1541, he inherited his fathers fued by expelling him from his country. He tried first to expand his territory toward north
and entered a conflict with another strong warlord, Uesugi Kensin. As both of them are good tacticians, the battle of Kawanakajima
ended in a draw. After the death of ImagawaYoshimoto, he raised a big army to occupy Kyoto and died due to illness during

(1567-1636) Born in 1567 in Yonozawa as a son of a war lord, Date Terumune. He was extended
his fief by beating Ashina and Satake clans, but by surrendering to Toyotomi Hideyoshi who came to Odawara?s seige, his fief
shrunk again to the initial Yonezawa region. By allying with Tokugawa Ieyasu during the battle of Sekigahara, he got the fief
of Sendai region. In 1613 he sent a delegation led by Hasekura Tsunenaga to Pope. Having lost one eye, he was nicknamed Dokuganryu

for many generations. This Naginata is not like any ordinary weapon. It carries a handle length of 27” which is made
from wood and is wrapped with black cotton string for a firm hold. At the top of the handle also carries a ring. This Naginata
has a normal guard like that of a sword and has a blade length of 25” which is antiqued to look like its battle worn.
